Default Remove the BA full-range on deck??

I have a system that consists of an Alpine ida-x100head, Rockford Power 1000 5-channel amp, Morel Hybrid Ovation components up front, Boston Acoustics SX85 full range on rear deck (for rear fill) and a single JL Audio W7 12 in the trunk that I just purchased last night to replace my crappy Kicker L7.

Should I yank the BA's (weakest part of my system) or leave them there for the enjoyment of my passengers? Or maybe replace them with another brand of high quality components? I'm thinking of just yanking the crap and telling my back seat passengers to deal with it, it's perfect SQ up front .

do you like rear fill?

I see no reason to upgrade them as boston is great stuff, you don't need much more for fill. I also see no reason to yank them as you can always adjust the balance forward.

Thanks ttocs. Yeah, I do like rear fill. I've had "some" type of rear fill in all of my systems, though it's usually just been mids. These are the first full-range speakers I've installed out back.

I've got it faded to front so they're only seeing about 1/4 output and it sounds pretty good. I guess I'll keep them back there.. for now.

Do they make 5x7'' plates for the deck? I may just get a Morel mid (or some kind of mid-driver) for the deck. I've always heard mid-drivers are best for rear fill and it can distort the sound if you install high-frequency drivers out back. I'm probably over-thinking it... but what the hell I'm bored this afternoon .

speaker plates so you can mount a round driver in a 5x7'' cutout. I know they make them for separates.

they are easy to make as well but again you are not going to gain anything going from oval to round speakers.

If you want a little more control over your sound and want to blow some cash why not consider something like the RF360?
