Default 1979 capri a track player

I have a 1979 capri with an A-track player. I want to upgrade my sound system, and get a new head unit. Is there anything I can get that still keeps the classic look of the a track player, but also plays MP3's with like an I Pod jack?

Ya sorry about that, I didn't know what it was called and my friend only said it briefly so I thought I heard "a" track player. Where can I look to get a player like the one i described?

how are you planning on mounting it? Do you want to cut the dash to put a single din radio in place of the factory shaft mount or do you want to install a remote system and keep the stock look? Do you want video?

just buy 8 tracks off ebay my motorhome still has its 8track player for old Greek music that I can't seem to find anywhere else. THere's are 8 track to casset adapters. You could put that in and then an adapter for an ipod.

8 track > casset adapter > casset to mini headphone jack adapter > ipod

If you want to keep the shaft mount configuration of your dash, check out www.absoluteclassics.com . They sell shaft mount radios for classic cars. You should be able to get something there.

8 track > casset adapter > casset to mini headphone jack adapter > ipod
Only do this if you don't care about sound quality.

I personally would mount a head unit in the glovebox and leave the old one in the dash if you want that look.
