Default Rattle in my trunk :8

Well ive had my subs in for over a month now, i dont usually bump them unless i have girls in the car because most girls dont like my rock/hardcore music so i have to put on the TI cd or something lol.

anyways, when i do bump it, my trunk rattles like crazy, its not as bad inside the car but out side, its just embarasing.

ive tried:
removing everything from my trunk except the subs. i even removed the whole lock mechanism, trunk light keyhole thing off the trunk lid.
my friend told me to pop out the side vents that were in the trunk so i did that and it still rattles, what is it???

thanks guys!

what you need to do is deaden the trunk. should help with the rattles alot.

i reccomend second skin damlifier pro, best deadner ive used to date.

also what i do is lay some butly tape on the back of my licence plate then screw it down

turn ur subs up, go outside and push on ur license plate to see if thats the culprit. The majority of the time, thats the prob bob.

you need to isolate the rattle and then you can figure out a way to fix it. As he said above turn it up loud and now go and try pushing or pulling on different panels to see what is actually rattleing. Once you know what is rattling then you can find a way to keep it from vibrating by either sound damping(2nd skin also recomended) or by tightening down some screws.

I would dynomat the trunk and cut a piece to fit behind the licence plate.

also if you are missing those plastic plugs/screws that hold the plastic molding together that will be a problem

ive been turning it up and pushing and holding things but i cant seem to get the exact thing. I dont want to spend the money on Dynomat at the moment but do you think if i lined it with Yoga Mat it would do the same thing? id get black ones and take my time with it, i would hate for my car to look like crap.

oh, if you are going to use the black ones then yea those work great. You will need 6-8 of them and some duct tape to hold them in place.

I did mine the cheap way. Probably get flamed by the serious audio guys but it works for me: Go to home depot and get some house insulation (the pink stuff) stuff it in every little crevice in the trunk lid as tighht as you can it it. Then pull out the carpets in the trunk and shove a bunch of it in between them and the walls of the trunk. Works great. And 10x lighter than dynamat
