I havent used the home insolator but I have used roofing/siding materials to do my trunk. Its about 10 dollars a pop and works good. Took the rattle out of my old mazda that had a loose wing and license plate.

unfortunatly the peel-n-seel option is only good for a short term fix. Depending one where you are at it may last a month, maybe a year.

truth not to be a dick op but if you want the rattle gone they you should really get any type of deadner. **** raamat is 120 per roll and is really good stuff.

its like saying you want a fast car but dont want to pay for it

I am going to pick up some sound damping for my truck this afternoon infact. Until I find anything better I will be putting nothing less then second skin damplifier pro in my own vehicles. This stuff is freakin awsome, and doesn't give out after a short time. Their entry level stuff is the same as extreme but cheaper and better.

With the S197's trunk rattle is inevitable, you can deaden the crap out of it, and in the end its still going to rattle. The trunk lid is the bigest culprit it will vibrate till the day your car kicks the bucket. The best advise i can give you is dampen it untill you cant hear it inside the car anymore. And if it still bothers you do what i did (am am getting ready to do again) build your box in place of your back seat.
