Amp suggestions?
How much "bump" are we talking? I want to have a sub I can turn down to loud but tolerable levels for listening to music, and have the option of setting off car alarms when I turn it up. Will this amp be good enough?

As an example, you can have enough "bump" to knock the rear view mirror of the glass and not be able to see anything out of the other mirrors. In the right sized box and right amount of power it would hit hard and wihtout taking up the entire trunk. It all dependds on what frequency range you really want to be listneing to all your music in. Not all subs are capable of hitting as hard as another sub in a certain freq. range. Yes they can all be tuned for whatever freq. range you want, just might not hit as hard as another one. You can have people tossing ideas and thoughts all day long when all it boils down to is what you want to hear. If you like the higher freq. range of bass then kickers might not be your cup of tea. I like the low range. 35-45 htz. Kickers to " ME" sound the best.
TO answer the other question about that amp in your link. 1500w rms at 1ohm is plenty. That doesnt seem like a bad deal for the amount of power that it should produce. The worst thing that can happen is you wont like the performance of the amp. That is the hard thing about stereos. What sounds good to you might not sound good to someone else. I would say for the price it cant hurt much to try it.
I am sorry to anyone thinking I was starting to off the deep edge in one post. It just buggs the hell out of me when someone will bash a product or use a poor choice of words when they have no idea what someone else really want to hear. I understand having your own opinion and being will to stand by it is great. Just remember not all ears are the same. AND, I was not trying to step on any toes or offend anyone.
Yeah it is all install and just having a little thought about what you do. The sad thing is you sitting here bashing Kicker products when maybe your install was wrong. Besides who are you to sit here and say that this speaker sounds better than that one. You are not capable of judging someone elses opinion of what sounds good. I merely tossed out a though for the other guy asking all the questions. As far as my 141.3 and it doesnt mean squat to you. So what. I wasnt giving you an example. And that was ina box barely big enough to hold the speaker. THere was alot more potential if it was in a bigger box.
Good for the guy with the type R sub. That means nothing to me. It is mostly install. Also, you need to take into account the type of vehicle that the subs go in. Dont sit there and try and bash a product someone else likes. And you should learn to keep some negetaive comments to yourself. Like you know everything. Doubt it.
