Default Speaker Help

I have a 2000 gt, I believe the Mach 460 set up. I replaced the rear speakers with a set of Alpine sps-507. I did leave the tweeters out as I was also searching for a upgrade. May go with 3.5". As of now the speaker volume in the rear is really low/faint. Not sure what I did wrong or how to fix. Thanks for any help.

the tweeter or the 2.5s are your highs. the 6x8s are your mids and lows.

you replaced an 8 ohm woofer with a 4 ohm full range driver. Your amps are probably shutting off at high volumes because of the impedence drop.

If you have not replaced the deck, you can't replace the speakers. If you have replaced the deck you will need to do some minor re-wiring to bypass the amps and drive the speakers off of the deck power.

the best thing to do is replace every mach thing in car if u want new speakers.buy a new deck,6.5 comps or 5x7 for the front,5x7 2 ways for the back, and a nice 4 channel amp.would be the best and easiest way to do everything.

minus the amp would be the easiest, they can run off of the speakers.

i have yet to find one of the mach systems or premium systems that has 8 ohm speakers. all of the speakers that i have replaced are clearly marked 4 ohm. i can't say this is true for all years, just from 1996 to 2004 models this is what i have seen.

that is exactly the opposite from what I have seen. They have always been 8 ohm in the 460 regardless of year. My buddy just pulled his out yesterday, I'll check with him.

i have noticed other stuff like that not always being the same. like i have only seen one stang from 94 up that had rear defrost. but at the same time all of the verts have them. mine doesn't have one and it is factory glass.
