Post Adding Subs to a Factory Shaker 500 system

I just finished ordering a new 2010 GT, but because of the silly way Ford does things in order to keep the wife happy and get dual-zone climate control I had to give up the Shaker 1000 system for the Shaker 500 system. I have no problem installing a pair of 10" subs, or even building a custom fiberglass enclosure similar to the factory part. My question is what is the best way to go about adding the line level adapter for the new amp? Does anyone have any suggestions as to brand? Which subs will must closely voice match the factory speakers? Thanks for your help.

I'm not sure if this is what your looking for but you can add an amp and subs with a line out converter. like this for example
http://www.darvex.com/SGN13/Stinger+...Convertor.html

with these you just splice into a speaker wire and it converts it into an adjustable rca output.

a standard line out converter is all you need, or u could tap the low level output going to shaker 500 subs behind the radio

I am not an audio expert and but I have wasted alot of money playing around with this issue. I have found that adding a trunk sub on a Shaker 500 has its issues if you keep the door subs connected, it seems with the Shaker 1000 they have the right time delays set for the trunk sub vs the door subs so they will sound in phase or the trunk sub is playing lower freq the then the door sub which act more like a mid bass driver. I don't have the answers but have wasted alot of time and money.

There will be a time delay from your trunk sub vs your door subs and it will cancel some of the bass freq in the car. I have been playing around with this issues for months with a powered trunk sub and external powered sub on my shaker 500 in my 2006 mustang. If you run the trunk sub below the feq of door subs it will be fine or find an amp that has varible phase control or a DSP with time delay adjustment.

My advice is to leave it alone or go with a Rockford 3 sixty 2 and use the factory head unit and replace the rest of the system.

You can try a MTX powerd sub or infininy but you may be asking for trouble like I did.... IF you keep the freq below the door subs you should be ok with minor issues, just be aware what you are getting into.

If I can help please PM me...
