Hey guys, Im sure this has been asked before but the search option kind of sucks on this site so... I have an 05GT with the factory shaker500, Im not sure if I want to do the entire system or not so for now I just want to replace the head unit mainly so I can have an Ipod/mp3 player hook up, wether it is an Aux in or usb or both. What are you S197 guys with just an aftermarket headunit running in your shaker500's? I dont need or want Nav as I already have a Garmin and this car isnt driven that much. I also prefer the double din HU. Thanks for any and all help!!!

 

For what its worth, you can add an ipod & aux input while keeping the Shaker500.

You have to buy an adapter from: www.PIE.net

Use their web site to make sure your Shaker is compatible. It's cheaper than buying a whole new setup which would attract thieves.

 

check out alpine cda-9886 killer headunit, usb and ipod are top notch

 

I have the peripheral unit from best buy and it is great. If you have a ton of music I would suggest making play lists.
