Default Shaker 500, weird startup behavior

I just got my 2005 GT last weekend, and I just started noticing something strange in the last couple of days. When I first start the car and turn the radio on, it displays "Radio Scan +" and sits there scanning for channels. Eventually it gives me control, but I cant seem to cancel the behavior. Also, when I turn off the car and remove the key, the radio will keep playing. Is this normal?

What do you recommend for a tuner with aux input replacement? Is there any way to make use of the space that will be left by installing a new smaller head unit?

Have you looked at the button closely to see if it getting stuck in the in position.

Radio will stay on until the door opens right, then it shut off correct? That is normal.

You need a dash kit if you install a new headunit.... metra 99-5807 or 99-5812(model#s) and wire harness metra 70-5521
