Default need help choosing in dash dvd HU

Hi guys i have an 05 mustang with the shaker 1000 system, and im looking to upgrade the headunit with an in dash touchscreen dvd platform. I do not want one with navigation since they cost to much. Im looking to spend under $400 bucks on the unit. Im just looknig to get a nice looking touch screen to play my ipod on.

I found this headunit for $348

does anyone have this? or heard any comments about this? Also if i hooked one of these up would all the speakers from my shaker 1000 including the subs still work?

any other HU that would be good? thanks.

The wiring harness runs about $130. If you buy your head unit from Crutchfield, you get the wiring harness for half price and all the other installation parts are free. And don't forget to go to Radio Shack and get a 5V voltage regulator. And Head units with Navi are not that expensive any more. I put a Valor DVD/Navi unit in my Wife's 2004 mustang GT and liked it so much, I ordered it for my 07 Mustang GT. Total price for unit and harness was $590 shipped.

So ttocs, Let me know when you find a wiring harness for the 2005 and up mustang with a shaker 1000 cheap.... Where did you get yours? Or better question... What year Mustang do you have? Wiring harnesses for 2004 and older mustangs are just $20.

70-5521 is without a doubt the proper harness for an 05+ mustang solder in the 5vdc regualtor and u are set, no need for 100+

i have done a number of 05+ cars and own one myself

In late 2007 mustangs, Ford went to a data turn on throught the factory headunit which = no switch power at the harness.....I would figure the $130 harness is the one where it gives you switch power at the radio harness, made by PAC I believe.....That would be why it is $130, or just buy the $20 metra harness and run your own switched power wire.
