Audiobahn subs- Good or Bad?
Memphis is a big no-no. Almost as bad as Audiobahn. One of my friends is head installer at a place that really pushes Memphis and they get a lot of returns. It'd be a cold day in hell before I had either of those brands in my car. Depending on what you want, I'd look at Kicker, Eclipse and Elemental Designs. Kicker is really good for SPL. Their subs really pound in a ported enclosure, especially if it's tuned right. Eclipse and Elemental Designs won't usually hit as hard, but they will have better sound quality. Of course there are exceptions, but in most cases this is what you will find. I have also heard good things about JL but they are kinda pricey and their subs pull a lot of power. It would probably cost more than you're willing to spend to have a good JL system. Pioneer also makes good subs. Friends of mine have had Pioneer Premier subs that sounded great.

Are you just referring to their subs or their amps as well? Their amps are awesome. Solid as a brick. I have a Memphis Belle in my Acura TL running 75 x 4 and 1,000 x 1. It sounds incredible. I did have the M-Class 500d and the 4 channel but, just sold them. I have never had a bit of problems with them and would highly recommend them. I have never had any of their subs or speakers so, if that is what you mean, ignore the rest, hehe. I would not really rate Kicker any better than Memphis but, Eclipse and ED are for sure a step above the other two. But also, they all make different different models from less expensive to high end. All of the brands high end stuff is going to be pretty good.
They see problems across the board. I know one kid in particular who had a channel blow on his amp twice. How many Memphis amps have you had? I'm sure they're not all bad, but for the money I would buy some other brand. Same kid had a capacitor go bad (pretty sure it was Memphis). Some people like their speakers, but I've heard their components and it's just not cutting it. Those new Pioneer 6 1/2 components sound WAY better. The subs are ok I guess. Haven't really heard anything about them going bad. I still would go with a different company. That's my opinion though and we all know what opinions are like.
I have had three. I still have the Memphis Belle, I had an MC500d and an Mc2004. Both were great and never gave me problems. I personally would consider them some of the best value in amps. I would put my Belle up against about any mainstream amp. Excluding high end amps. But like you said, just opinions.
Well all thanks for the input...I ended up with a single Alpine TYPE R 12 with a Polk audio C300 , Polk Audio C400 4ch runninng the Polk audio 5x7 coax. in the rear deck and Jl Audio XR570-CSi in the doors. The only thing I'm really not sure about is the sub enclosure i had a Q-logic bandpass I put it in(Any opinions) Can't tell ya all what it sound like yet still waitin on the amps. Thanks again!PS-Still haven't found the third amp for the Mach 460...anyone know where it's at!!!?
Audiobahn looks flashy, and sounds flashy. My buddy has a set, and his 4Runner bumps loud, anyone can hear him from a mile away... but when you get in the car all it does is make you deaf and drowns out the music. Other brands are better quality, with cleaner hits and better sound... not to mention they are cheaper.
