Default Power wire

where is a good place to run a power wire from the battery to the amp. I had mine run through the door and it got pinched and burned out my power wire. I tried looking at the firewall and cant seem to find an opening or do i have to drill one?

NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER RUN POWER WIRES THROUGH THE FENDER, EVER........ Did you have it fused?

If you look on the drivers side of the cars firewall you will see a large wire harness going through. The rubber grommet that goes around it is wide and can easily fit a 4 awg wire. Take a screw driver and carefully poke it through from the engine side and then leave it there. Take a flashlight into the interior and lay on the flloor and look for the screwdriver. If you can take the light and aim it at the screwdriver/grommet and then leave it there. Now when you pull the screwdriver out, gently pry it over to the side and the light from inside will light up the whole and make it easy to see. Simply push the wire through and if you have a buddy to help it makes it easier for one person to feed it and one person to pull it.

There's a large rubber grommet (with a group of wires running through it) located to the left of the brake pedal/clutch on the firewall. What I did was stick an exacto knife through the side of it (from both sides) and slice out a piece just big enough for my power wire to run through.

I shoved 1/0 gauge wire through it from inside the car, so I'm sure you can get whatever gauge through that you need. Keep the hole just big enough for your wire to go through, and it should keep a good seal. I also had a ring terminal on the end of my wire, and that helped me get it through the hole and to have something to pull it through with from under the hood.
