I've had my Z2 hooked up for about a year now and no problems. Anyways I hooked up my backup camera to the Z2 today. The camera works fine and I powered it to my amp so its on at all times instead of only when I'm in reverse.

Here's the problem - When I put my car in reverse, the camera screen doesn't come on. Also, when I turn the car on and when the Nav screen is loading, it shows the camera view as if the car was in reverse.

What my question, is the Reverse wire hooked up incorrect? or possibly the VSS wire? I didn't do the install on my head unit. Anyone with the Z2 please help!?

 

the reverse wire is what is made to tell the radio the car has been put in reverse and to turn on the camera function. By bypassing it and keeping it on all the time it has no idea why you are driving in reverse all day.........

I would hook it up as normal and maybe include a switch that you could pop to turn it on instantly when you want to.
