Default Shaker 500 Vs 1000??

Hi I am about to purchase a 2010 Mustang GT Premium but im stock on one option.. From my understanding you can not get the shaker 1000 and the navagation its one of the other. I LOVE audio, before it got stolen I had a $500 pioneer deck, 4 rockford fosgate POWER side speakers (75w RMS each) with a 400w RMS amp, as well as 2x12 in alpine Type-R's driven by a rockford fosgate 1000w BD class amp in a sealed box with dynamat everywhere.. So I know good sound quality. Well im in a situation where id rather not go that extreme any more because I would hate for someone to break into my car again so im sticking with stock. I tested out the shaker 500 today at the dealer and it seemed like OK sound.. not too amazing, but i also didnt blast it too high or fidget with the sound settings much either. I guess my question is does the shaker 1000 sound that much better? I usualy listen to rock music with some metal (Led zepplin all the way through system of a down type music... not too much rap any more.. ) but i dont want to give up the nav either, the screen looks great. Is it possible just to get a single subwoof with the shaker 500 and keep the nav? Or would i be better off with the shaker 1000? For some reason too the shaker 500 didnt sound as good as my stock bose system in my mazda. From my understanding mazda bose systems are pretty subpar to begin with compared to other systems out there. My usual benchmark for sound is freebird =)

EDIT: Or would the most sensable option be to just add different side speakers? I like there to definitly be noticalbe bass, but i dont need to feel my nose hairs moving (makes my nose itchy LMAO! it used to happen with my Type-R's hehe)

The difference between the shaker 500 and 1000 is, the 1000 has an extra sub box in the trunk, this gives you the difference between the 500 and 1000watts.

if someone breaks in and steals either of the two systems this will be the first reported theft of a shaker system that I know of. It is useless with out the harnesses which are the hardest part to find.

I would not set my goal to find a mustang with either as they both have the indash changer which is programmed to explode after it confirms it has your 6 most favorite disks.

I guess my biggest worry is that it will not sound as good as my bose in my mazda 3 (07 GT) any one ever compare the 500 to the bose in mazda?

wow, tough one.......... Bose has alot of highs, and no lows...... The mach has more lows then highs. Now the reliability of the bose is slightly less then the machs, as hard to believe as that might be.

I would just get the stang you want and with a little time and $$ you can have the system YOU want.

all factory premium sound systems suck. most of the bose systems and infinity systems are nothing more than stock speakers with amp attached to them. i can't see spending twice as much money for half the sound and quality. just my opinion
