Couple Questions..help please
I plan on doing a system sometime soon..do we have to rewire our cars since I have premium sound..I didn't think that I did..but my friend swears I do..I'm probably going to do a custom box with 2 alpine 12s..do you all think this will be enough? What about 1 sub? Can you feel it if its just one?
a sub is going to 'be felt' no matter how many there are lol. ok, no you dont have to REwire your car to do this. if you are starting from scratch, you will however have to atleast get an adapter for your stock head-unit since it doesn't seem like you will be getting one. all you're gonna need after that is an amp wiring kit, id recommend a 4 gauge kid for +1000 watts of power, 8 gauge if less.
the wiring kit will have:
-your fuse holder and fuse (shy away from cylindrical fuses if you can, the glass tubes with like a metal lightning bolt inside of them = easy breakers and bad news.) get yourself a kit with atleast a brick fuse.
-your power and ground wires (make sure to put the ground wire on bare metal otherwise paint can cause problems/lack of connection)
-your remote wire (wired to the amp from the radio so when it needs to come on it will, not stay on 100% of the time cuz you're wired to the battery via power wire.)
-rca's to run from amp to the head-unit adapter
and i think that's it for most standard kits.
if any questions feel free to pm me because idk that ill checkup on this specific thread
