Default CD player and Clock- Kaput

When I got my stang the cd player and clock came broken. A buddy of mine blew a fuse and his clock and deck went out, but i check all my fuses and they are fine. Im thinking it shorted out, but is there any thign else i should check? any good references or places i should go in wisconsin?

is the clock on the cd player face or do you have the model where the clock is on the dash? If all the fuses are good then I would pull out the deck and check the wires to make sure they are still connected and not burned out. If you know how to use a voltmeter then whip that out and see if you are getting voltage to your deck. Let me know if any of this helps out or not.

Its the model with the clock on the dash. I pulled out the deck, all the wires in the immediate area seem to be good, next chance i get ill pull out the voltmeter and check the power.
Im sure they are linked, but im not sure what the problem is, after i check if its getting power Ill post back here. If theres no power there, whats the next step?

Well those wires are going to run to a fuse, which one I am not sure with your model. I'm sure a Haynes or Chiltons manual or maybe even the owners manual has where it is. Check that fuse. If that fuse is good you can use a voltmeter to see if you are getting power to that fuse. Just take the fuse out and put the probes inside where the fuse went. If you are getting power there but not at the accessory then somewhere along the line the wire is shorted, grounded, or cut. If aren't getting power from there, then check to make sure nobody stole your battery....hehehe. No, after that, check the power connections to the fuse box itself and make sure those are good.
