I have a shaker 500 system which i know then HU can be replaced since there are many people on the forum that have done so. I however haven't found the answer to whether i can replace my HU and keep Microsoft Sync working. My cousin does custom installs but has never encountered a car with sync running and doesnt know if the CPU for sync is in the HU or if it is located somewhere else. thanks for any help you can provide.

 

i think they make a special harness that keeps the sync. i think i goes for like 170 but i know they make something for the ford fusions to retail it but i dont know about the mustang which should be the same thing.

 

i saw the harness but, it says its only compatible with a couple models. does the mustang use the same wiring harness as other ford cars or is a vehicle specific. i know with toyota and lexus almost every car uses the same wiring harnesses. and if it is vehicle specific then can i just the wires and connect it to a mustang metra harness.
