I installed the shaker500 a long time ago in my car because I wanted the 6 disc cd changer - and it has been a big help for me. However when I installed it I did not connect the radio cable to the port in the back of the shaker500. The reason was because I couldn't figure out how to make it fit! I think they were two different sizes or something...? Does anyone know why this is and if there is a way around this? I never use the radio but this Christmas I got an iTrip and that requires the radio and I'd love to use that now. If I take it to an audio place is there some way they could get it connected for me without me having to sacrifice the Shaker500 (ie an adapter of some sort)? Or am I forced to install my old single-cd unit back into the car?
I'm in an 07 Mustang, not sure what year the Shaker500 is from though... I have never experienced any problems with the shaker.

 

What exactly do you mean by the "radio cable"? Are you referring to the antenna plug? It's the round co-axial looking cable?

I'm not sure, but I would think that there should be absolutely no difference between the two systems regarding this cable hookup. It should just snap into the back of the unit.

 

your radio is most likely from an 05

you need a metra 40-cr10 (yes its a chryler antenna adapter)

most stores will stock a 40-cr20 meaning you need to order this online most likely then just plug it in
