wrong. SWR stands for Standing Wave Ratio and it's a measurement of how efficient the tuning of an antenna is at the intended transmit/receive frequency. This requires a special meter to check and set.

incorrect again, it's not a power measurement of the CB radio (regulated to 4 watts by the FCC). Read my post above.

SWR is the ratio of measurement to read how much of the RF energy from the radio is being rejected by the antenna and forced back to the radio. High SWR will destroy the RF final in a CB radio. A ratio of 1.5:1 or lower is optimum. Find a local CB shop and ask them to check your SWR.

Use the factory AM/FM antenna along w/ a CB balun and both rigs will work just fine.

If maximum performance is required then get a CB-only antenna in one of the many options.

Right back atcha good buddy...

If you want a CB only and don't want to drill, go with a k40, or a Wilson 1000 magnet mount. They're, for the most part, plug and play. Very little adjustment needed.

Exactly. Lil Wil is the 3 footer, Wilson 500 is a 4', and the 1000/5000 is 5' tall. All good antennas.

i would never put a cb in my horse.nothing but stupid childest fools on the air talking about stupid stuff btw most of it is racist stuff all day long.its not what it used to be.the only good thing about cb's is they call out BEARS (police) and most of the time they don't do that.trust me i know i have a trucking company i've been driving over a decade. when i have to drive i keep it off.Just my .02 but if you want a good radio go with a cobra 29 best radio for the money.there are bigger cb's out there but for what your trying to do thats all you need.
