Default 2010 Shaker 500 swap

I have a 2010 base GT and a friend of mine has a 2010 premium V6 w/ shaker that he recently totalled and toldme that i can get anything i want off of it and ive already taken the leather wrapped steering wheel w/ audio controls but the audio controls do not work with my base head unit so my question is in order to get the controls to work i have to have his head unit but can i just get the head unit or are the amps i need to get too?

Not sure how the 2010 is but I gave my friend my shaker 500 and he had the base head unit, it works fine.

I'm pretty sure the premium 2010 shaker system is an 800 system, had a couple more speakers and an amp, i'll have to go check my documentation and post a followup. You might also want the rearview mirror as it has the mic for the voice recognition (sync) and bluetooth hands free. The rear center console also has a usb port and line in jack.

you would need the amps and all the wiring as well, not as easy as it sounds...

Plus the door panels for the 8'' subs. Hope they match the OP's.

Although I PMed this to the OP, I figured I would share some additional information. Ford calls these radios "Audio Control Modules" and due to the way they interface with the CAN bus, they could potentially require reprogramming to use in another vehicle that was not similarly equipped. Heck, even in the SAME vehicle, I've seen the service bulletin where it was recommended to download the old ACM's programming and upload it to the replacement unit.
