Mach 460 CD changer doesn't play
Ever since it has been really hot out in the past weeks (above 85) my Mach 460 CD changer doesn't play CDs. The radio works fine but when I press "CD" it says Seek Track 1 and it sounds like it's doing something (seeking through the CD). The person who owned the car before me has a chrome trim around the whole stereo and AC deck which gets very hot. Could the CD player just be overheating from sitting out in the sun and not working? I think I read in the owner's manual that this can happen.
Thanks

mach 460 is poorly made i check the connections thats all you can do not unless you take it to ford. You could also check with alpine their cd changers are oem compatible with a few extra harnesses
Could it be the overheating problem since it has the chrome trim which just sucks in heat? The manual says it doesn't operate if the internal temp is over 140F and you have to wait for it to cool down.
I just went out and tried it at around 8:10 and my CD in slot 1 worked but slot 3 and 4 did the same thing and didn't work. The chrome trim around the CD player is still very warm even though the sun has gone down.
