Default Mach 460 Head Unit

Does anyone know where I could find a Mach 460 head unit, besides eBay? The cd changer broke out of nowhere and I don't really want an aftermarket unit because the Mach system was sufficient enough.

Dealer or junkyard would be my only other 2 guesses.

Why not ebay?

eBay is fine but I could only find 2 last night that would work. I was just looking for other places to look along with eBay.

Did you pick one up? If so I have a Mach 460 H/U out of a 03GT that works perfectly. PM me with an offer if interested.

This is a common problem with the 460 head units. You buy another you will eventually be back in the same situation. Do what I did just buy a aftermarket head unit.

how about you mail me $!00 and your 6 most favorite disks and in return I will slap you silly and then you can go buy a deck tha will not break.

The changers have always sucked to the point I think ther is a conspracy where ford/jbl are in cahoots with the music industry recording artists. I am positvie that they programmed them to lock up when it is sure it has your favorite music in it.

Well even though the norm now is mp3 and digital music, I just wanted to keep the audio stock plus I like the fact that if I want I can throw in 6 cd's right in the dash instead of a changer in the back.

Maybe I'll get an aftermarket head unit but I would rather get the stock Mach one.

What kind do you have. A normal size one or one of those double din ones. If I would get one it would probably be one of the double size ones with a touchscreen. But I know nothing about which brand is good and which is trash.

I bought a kenwood double din. I do not like the look of the smaller radios with filler kit in such a large hole. I just had it installed. I was the same as you and wanted to keep the stock head unit. Once I found out this was a common problem with the head units and combined with the cost to replace. I decided to go aftermarket. I did not want to buy used. There are a couple websites where the stock units are either new or have been rebuilt. But to pay out the money for a ticking time bomb did not make sense. If you did not know you can have it fixed through ford. I think it was something like a couple hundred dollars and they just exchange it out. As for touchscreen if screen folds down you will have problems with shifter in the way I am told. I can not tell you what is good or bad. I just went to a car audio store and the unit I got , they had a great deal on. Whatever your decision good luck.

Thanks. Maybe I will get a double din touchscreen. At least then, like you said, the whole space is filled because I don't like the empty space left by a normal radio either.
