Mach 1000 = headache.
Well my head unit went out tried my best to fix it but it was beyond salvaging. So i went to my local abc warehouse and got a new head unit. Well got a good deal and when i was driving home the quality of the music sounds like total dog crap. Mach subwoofers wont even hit at all. I tried to fine tune everything for a better part of an hour and didnt get ne results. So i went back and talked to the guy and he said the headunit has enough power to push everything but he even came out and listened to it and he said the same thing as me. So i have to go back this week and get the whole system re wired he said. Does anyone have any ideas before i go broke with this project? Yes i checked fuses. Thx for ne help guys!

the problem is that the stock amplifiers like a very high/hot signal. They basically take the standard speaker level output of the radio and then feed it to the stock amps. Most after market radios put out 2v on their rca outputs, a good one will do 4 volts, the stock amps like it closer to 8 volts so you are feeding the amps a weaker signal then they are use to so the output is less.
Check out a little toy called a line driver. it is a low-level amp that will boost the signal to where the stock amps will be happy. You can also try adding capacitors to the tweeters to take the bass out of them as they do not like any bass. I think I used 1000 microfarad caps to take the bass out around the 400 hz area and cleaned them up nicely. These two things are not that hard to do and will make a huge difference, trust me. I show a little about integrating into the mach system on page 2 of my cardomain page.

that was some interesting reading. I am not really schooled in the audio part of the car yet but i took it in today at a differ speaker shop and they said they could get me set up in the right direction so hopefully this all works in the right way this time. But thanks for the reply man sounds like u know your stuff!

do not let that shop tell you that you have to gut the system, and that it will cost hundreds to do it.... Alot of places will do that, it is not needed and I can get you through it if my page was a little over your head.
