Mach 460 issues!

Mach 460 issues!
Ok so for a while now, my door speakers have not been working, and I also have ZERO bass ...
makes me sad =[
but yeah, I pulled out the tape deck [it's in a '99 so the tape and cd players are separate] and there's a skinny black wire with a plug that says 'amp' on the bottom...
I just don't know where the heck it goes! [It's wrapped together with a bigger gray wire that plugs into the back of the tape player] I'm assuming the back of the CD portion because there is nowhere for it on the tape? Which won't come out by the way, only one side will come loose and the other gets stuck...
Help, would be greatly appreciated...
P.S. Please dumb down any explanations, I'm a girl, and I suck at this stuff...and my dad and brother are no good with anything newer than 1990...
