Default Mach 1000 install ?

As most stories go I got a good deal on a Mach 1000 and am trying to install it in an 03 that has a Mach 460. I know most of you are going to tell me to put a custom setup in my car but I want to keep it looking stock & dont care for aftermarket tuners look. I have all the hardware (head unit, amps & brackets) but need ideas as to wireing. I dont care for the harness on Ebay as the Mach 1000 head unit doesnt properly. My other thought was to replace the 14A005 body harness, has anybody done this & how big of a job was it? I really want the mach 1000 button to function and think that this may be my only way. Please help.

"I dont care for the harness on Ebay as the Mach 1000 head unit doesnt properly" ---huh?

I ams sure that there is a different hrns and getting ahold of the entire hrns if pretty hard. The hrns behind the radio is ran with some other wires back behind the dash over to the drivers side where it goes to the back. I would imagine it would be completely different because of the extra power draw the 1000 takes.

I know you do not want to hear it but I am willing to bet after many hours of reaserch, you might be able to find the info you know but this is all before you actually start installing it. I could have a much nicer sub/amp completely installed before you had finished trying to find what you need.

The mach system as far as I am concerned is one of the best premium system available but still will not touch anything aftermarket.

I will concur with this. There are several aftermarket routes that you can take AND give it an OEM look. You can grab Speaker boxes that look that the 1000 as well as reuse the 1000 rack for an amp I BELIEVE. Speakers themselves can be mounted in the stock location inside of the car. If you look hard enough you can find a nice HU that isnt gawdy like the majority of aftermarket HUs out there.
