I've used Audiocontrol line level converters in the past. I have 1 somewhere in my stereo stuff stacked away in totes. The best thing with them is that they have a power on output for the amp(soft on) so when it senses power to your speakers it turns on your amp(s)

If you tapping into a factory amplified speaker make sure to use a high power LOC.Most are 35 watts and the better ones handle 50 watts. We have seen them melt from the wrong application

JL Audio Cleansweep CL441dsp... it does more than just convert to line level. It also corrects the OEM Equalization programmed into the head unit, turns your system on/off via signal sensing and also provides a clean Aux Input for additional sources. Not the cheapest solution... about $300.00, but you asked for the best.
