Default trying to install voltage regulator

so im trying to figure out the exact set up for the wiring on the 4200
i have all the colors matched up and i understand how to do the bypass, but i have a couple questions:

1.since both the regulator to stop the popping of the subs and the bypass relay use the blue and white system remote control wire, i just split it into two wires im assuming

2. im pretty sure i read this somewhere but the mute wire is only used if i have the bluetooth thing

3. where did yall ground the unit? any particular place?

4. i bought the extended ipod control cable seen here:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ef=oss_product
so if i use this, this pretty much stops me from watching dvds on a flash drive since it takes up the only usb slot right? or is there some kind of work around?

if you cant understand what im talking about in any of the questions just let me know and ill try and draw a diagram to explain it better.
thanks!

you will not use the blue wire

split blue/white between relay and the voltage regulator

use ground in harness or go to a metal bolt in the dash

as far as flash drive/ipod run the usb to a spot where u can unplug the ipod cable and plug a flash drive in if u desire that option

What it actually is should be on the plastic packaging for the harness (color chart). They'll usually match up, but not always.

The 4200 should also have a color = chart somewhere, usually stamped on the top of the unit. Solid blue for the metra harness is for a remote antenna. Not used.
