Alright folks, i was just looking through the forum getting more info on cobra's so that i can take that knowledge with me this spring when i buy one. However i happen to be quite into Car Audio and wanted to straighten up this ignorant posts above. First off i have been in the car audio seen for a long time now (i am a very highly rated member of Sounddomain.Com) I have owned and heard a lot of different subs. And one of those subs was a 12" brahma Mk2. And to the guy who said that dont buy no "mainstream" subs, you my friend need to stop talking...THANK YOU! Adire audio and RE (Resonant Eng.) are the creators of xbl^2 motor technology. Which is very very good stuff however there are new and better technologies out there but are hard to find. Also the subs that have this newer technology are 800+ dollars and are custom made so its tough to get. I am personally not a fan of JL as far as a company stand point goes b/c they charge such an extreme amount that it makes me sick. Yes i do agree the w7 is a fantastic subwoofer and some of their amps are great but not for the $$$$ you have to pay. If you sir are looking for a brahma i will tell you IMO you wont find a better SQ driver in its price range if your install is good. I cant stress enough that "INSTALL IS EVERYTHING". Hell a couple buddies of mine from sounddomain have taken Numerious SQ titles with kicker L7's. It has nothing to do with the sub its all the install. Sure haveing a great Sub helps but the install is 95% of the SQ output, if not higher. I had mine in a sealed box (which i made, i make all of my own boxes) with 1300 watts RMS on it and all i can say is.... The excursion was SICK and it was loud enough to hurt your chest! I would be all over the brahma if thats what your looking at. Another great sub is from RE (resonant eng.) RE's website Their "XXX" model sub. Very top notch as well. If you have any more questions plz let me know, and do not listen to these guys who dont know what they are talking about
Thanks

Adire makes one of the best subs on the market and the brahma is no exception. Obviously the ppl who said to stick to name brand stuff doesn't know alot about real car audio. I personally run Resonant Engineering XXX 15"s myself.

Dont listen to these guys that dont know what they are talking about. Ummmmm ok. Ok im an idiot and have no clue what im doing. Im not a "highly rated member at sounddomain" so i dont know anything. As i said, i own a shop. this is how i live. Mainstream subs as, Alpine,Dual,MTX,Rockford,Kicker,Ininity, profile,po wer acoustik,Audiobahn, brands sold in corp stores. They make it flashy, rush production to meet needs, and sound quality goes down. Look at Kicker GOOD EXAMPLE (FLASHY). Glad you know about Adire and such, but i would take Cadence,Adire,MMats,RE,Sound Splinter, and such over ANY that are in corp stores. they are made with better quality and worry about sound not looks. dont get me wrong Jl,and kicker for now, make good product. But JL is over priced and Kicker is a sell out.

04Mach.... Im not sure where you are going with this one. It seems to me we are on the same page and i never knocked you for selling the equipment you do? So i dont see where you are all hostile about. However i am going to add that just because some compaines went mainstream or w/e does not make them "crap". Thats not the case at all, however im with you and prefer "underground" compaines aka Non-mainstream anyday. I personally use PG and Crossfire amps and wouldnt trade them for the world (unless i was to get Zapco or TRU amps).

TO the point of this thread, brahma's are great subs. Adire makes some great subs but so does a lot of compaines. You really need to listen to other people's setups and see what you like. Everyone is different! But i can only promise if you went with a brahma you will be nothing but smiles.
BTW 04mach PM if you would, i've always loved mach 1's but im wondering what your opinion is on the car? WOuld you prefer something else, thigns you like/dont like about it? For me its either going to be a 99/01 Cobra or a 03 Mach? Any help would be great

Thanks for the input smokey. I am going to go with the brahmas. I got them at a great price and since they seem to be great subs I will take them. Now i just got to find some people who are interested in buying them. Let me know of any good audio forums where people are looking for some nice subs. Thanks for all the help so far.

Great choice, and as far as any forums looking for subs just about anyone you will go to has a large wanted list.

RedMach, About the alpine HU's.......couldnt of said it any better myself. On Sounddomain the fail rate on the newer Alpine Hu's is almost SICKNING. Because no one wants to buy them anymore. If someone is in the neighborhood looking for a new HU i would suggest Eclipse, or higher end pioneer. 860, 960 ect.

if your gonna be selling Adire then go to www.caraudio.com and start introducing yourself. those guys-like me-are always looking for awesome equipment like adire,RE,soundsplinter,tc sounds, digital designs, elemental designs etc. commenting on the new line of alpine hu, i agree that this years models are wack but last years model especially the 9835 are just awesome.
