89' Grey 5.0

Does anyone know where the rear speakers are located in an 89' vert? I thought they were gonna be located on the side panel next to the seat but there's nothing there but a solid panel. There is however a shelf I guess that someone before me built and put in the back but if I put the top down I have to remove the shelf and leave it out. Can somebody please help me out?!?

I'd kinda like to see a picture of that. The speakers should be there right where you said they are. Sounds like the previous owner took them out.

A buddy of mine has an 89 LX 5.0 vert (grey also haha), and he was wondering the same thing. Well turns out, that there is/was factory speakers behind those side panels, actually buried under factory carpet. Bet you have some there...
