Default How's the system in new stangs?

Just wondering how the sound systems are in the 2011+ mustangs?

I know with cars like the challenger, that come with kicker systems from the factory sounds awesome but I havent heard a mustang..

Im big on music and have always had aftermarket speakers in my car, along with subs.. until my car was recently broken into.. I dont want to put that stuff in a car anymore, so Im wondering... are people that like their rock and some rap loud, does the stock radio suffice?

Speakers sound muddy and dull. Worst I've ever had in a car. I have the Shaker 500 system in my 2010.

I agree.. I have the Shaker 500 and it was the first thing on the car that was replaced.. If you have been listening to just a factory system all your life thern it may be alright for you. If you are use to having a custom sytem then it really sucks..

shaker 500 left a lot to be desired. it says something when you have to set it to "rear seats" for it to sound right. over all it was better than my 1997 toyota's stock "premium" system.

i know kicker makes a replacement radio to fit in there for the 05-09 stangs but it ran off the stock headunit and the headunit is a part of the problem. i also dont like kicker and their square sub-uh-ma-jigs.

i would say go after market again. a lot of cars come stock with touch screens now so it wont look very aftermarket (if you go double din that is). and its not like they will know you have speakers/a sub installed unless youre flashy with it or they follow you around.

if you do go with the stock dont go for the shaker 1000. i think its another $1000 for just an average sub. at leats go after market on that. I have an mtx thunderform in mine and its good but i do have a pioneer 3300bt headunit.

but if youre really worried go and try it out. if a salesman gives you grief tell them that it is a big part of the decision and to fudge off. mine sounded best when treble and bass were a little less than 3/4s of the way up 1 or 2 points balance towards the front and the positioning at the rear.

once again i have an '07 but i cant see it being much different.

this brings up another point though. didnt the ford GT have a mcIntosh sound system for it. McIntosh as in the guys that do real high end home audio and use tubes and stuff. i wonder how those sounded and if McIntosh does good car audio in general. their home audio stuff is damn good.

My 2011 with the Shaker 500 is disappointing. I thought that a $39k car would have better. Im glad I didnt buy it to listen to music.

A very exclusive supercar! All the usual Ford GT features including the awesome 410kw 5.4L supercharged engine, 6-speed manual, leather covered carbon-fibre Sparco seats, plus the optional BBS lightweight forged aluminium wheels and McIntosh stereo system. Converted to RHD and registerable in all Australian states.

Put it this way, when Ford when from the Mach 460 to the Shaker 500 the quality went down. I had the 460 in my Cobra (which I upgraded to a Mach 1000) and it sounded far better than the Shaker 500 in my 08 GT and my 11 V6. Both shaker 500s sound about the same, they have ok bass and ok highs but the mids are kind of weak. Over all not as well balanced as the old Mach 460.
