Default 2008 Mustang GT Shaker 500 Radio Help, No ACC POWER!

HEy Guys, took the plunge and used the awesome write ups on installing a new AVH-P300BT. Well I am using the Metra Harness 70-5521 with the Voltage Regulator to eliminate Pop and the Parking Brake Mod. Wired and Soldered everything up. Plugged in, and no power! I used my meter and I have 12v on the yellow wire, but the Red ACC wire on the harness has absolutely NO POWER. I have checked all the fuses and from reading earlier posts, is this just an issue with 2008? Do I need to use the Add-A-Fuse to Fuse 5 in the Passenger Kick Panel? Why doesnt Metra tell anyone this? I have tested the radio, and as soon as I add power from a source, it lights right up. What did you guys do to fix this? Thanks!

I should also add that the Stock Shaker 500 head unit has the third harness, which is Can Bus I am asssuming.

I don't really want the PAC connector because I dont have NAV.

I'd find a spot in the fuse box that comes on with the ignition, and either tap or add a pigtail fuse. I didn't realize they did the CANBUS thing in 2008 for radio power... For some reason I thought it was later, like 2010, but I guess I was wrong.

Then again, I've only done audio stuff in the 2005 to 2007 stangs. I know the 2007 made it a royal PITA to change the rear speakers with the solid rear deck cover.

Check to see if you power on the grey/yellow on the car side of the factory plug. That is the acc. lead.

Thanks Iskwezm. Is that on the Canbus harness or the main harness?

Thanks OldSchool. Thats what I think its coming too. I picked up the Add-A-Fuse and just need to find a fuse on ACC Power. It looks like #7 is labeled "Accessory Delay" , might be worth a shot!

the vehicle is partial can bus, meaning the acc is not data controlled, but the other outputs are(reverse lights,VSS etc). The acc power is on the main 24 pin plug.

Yup, thats what I finally did. works like a charm. There is no ACC power anywhere on the harness.

Yeah, mid-production year it seems they did this. My 08 has it, but many do not have ACC in the radio harness, even though the wire is there.
