there she is, remember when you buy it you need the dash bracket to mount it/fill the gap around the unit to the rest of the console. and the expensive wiring harness.
I didnt need an antenna adapter for my 06 gt, stock one fit in the unit.

I have the kenwood bought from crutchfield I love it. It sounds great and looks nice my only issue is when it's really bright the screen is a little hard to but using my iPhone and pandora I don't need to see. Also if you are using the iPhone pandora app it does not show the song on the radio screen. It did however show the songs from my iPod that I downloaded

That's good to hear Jay. Do you have any pics of it in your car? Just wondering how well it blends into the dash. Is your iPhone/iPod connected through the front input?

Ok, so there's been a change of plans (in case anyone cares lol).

I've decided that I don't need all the fancy touch screens and stuff. Really all I want is to be able to listen to my iPod in the car just like how I had it in my old car (before the stereo cought on fire.... long story). So I decided to go back to the basics and I'm 90% set on the Pioneer DEH-6300UB. I've liked the look of this since it came out.

It doesn't have a rear USB mount, but since its only a single DIN unit, I'm just going to plug a retractable USB-iPod cable into the front and leave the iPod in the bottom half/storage cubby below the head unit.

This option will be significantly cheaper than any others I was considering and will be the easiest to install.

So... with all that being said, does anyone have that ^^ head unit in your S197 and do you have any pics of it?

Really appreciate all the help guys!

If you looking for single din units now, I would think you could get one with a rear Ipod hookup for not much $$$. I'm also in the market for a new head unit just because i NEED to be able to control my Ipod with the head unit. I'm so sick of fumbling for it. I'm really leaning towards the Pioneer App radio. The single din would be cool just cuz you'll get a cubby under the radio and we know space is limited in our cars!

You can get a single DIN with a rear USB port, however none of them look as good as this one or are as cheap. I don't really mind not having a rear USB port in this case, since I can just keep the iPod in the cubby space and have only a small segment of wire going into the USB port. Also, not having the rear USB simplifies the installation. Just my thoughts on it.

Also, it seems that the consensus for aftermarket head units is that you do need the aftermarket PAC unit? If so then the whole thing with harness and installation kit will run $237 from Amazon.

I have the Shaker 1000, and I installed mine just fine without that expensive thing. Just used a nice cheap "premium" sound harness . I believe it was this one...

RED I believe thats because you have a 2007. A 2008 Mustang has a "bus" system... different connector. Thats how us 2008 and up get screwed.
