I bought a used 07 Mustang and I cannot get the Line-In to work on the shaker 500 to play music from my phone. It uses the standard headphone jack and I connect the cord to my phone and the aux input in the center console. But when I cycle through aux inputs i only get sat1, sat2 and sat3. Tried unplugging the headunit for 15 mins to reset things but no joy. Here is a thread of other people with the same issue. It looks like a common thing.

I want to stay with the shakers so I don't want a different type of head unit. But is there something I can do to fix this? Is my best bet to try and find a wrecked S197 and pop that head unit in?

Also, on the shaker 500, if you have no device plugged up do you still get the line-in input when you press aux? Or does that not show up until you attach an input device? That will help me determine if maybe the aux jack is broken. If that is the case then replacing the head unit won't help!

As far as the actual jack is concerned you could use a multimeter set to Ohms to check your resistance from the jack to the other end of the line it's attached to. If you get between .1 to 5ohms of resistance I would say the jack and the cable it's attached to is functioning perfectly.
