Default Changing Cluster Lights

I know this has been discussed on other models before, but what about the S197s? I've got a 07 V6. I wanted to change the lights in the cluster, on the climate control, and on the shifter to blue (my aftermarket stereo is able to change colors so one less step ). Are the lights just bulbs or are they LEDs? I really don't want to have to do any soldering, but I have got to say, the green is pretty ugly, especially with my blue interior lights. Thanks!

Not useless, sure there are others wondering as well, mine is pretty obscure with all the others out there.

It's fairly involved, but doable with a little prior SMD soldering experience, and necessary delicate hand. Most, if they do this, change out the cluster rather than re-do the LEDs in the 4-gauge they already might have of course.

Which was why I did my walk-through(the first link in my prior response), for the cheap/broke bastids out there. I looked myself prior to doing mine, even via google, think I was the only person to do this on the existing cluster, rather than the usual of changing it out, then do the rest of the LEDs except that.

It would be nice to have the message center, but not $400 (or near enough for a new cluster and 3-button insert) worth it IMO. Closer to $700 til you get your core charge back. There is always the wreck/ebay route, but that's a minor roll of the dice.

Yeah, I'd be able to do the soldering. It's just I'd rather get in, swap bulbs, and get out. Looks like a lot of work and some money. I'll definitely be doing this in the future though!
