Fuse for cigar light always blows
Ok, ever since I bought this car used 4-5yrs ago, the fuse for the radio console lighter always blows. The center one always works, no issues with that one. I've changed the fuse so many times. It blows roughly every 3 months darn near w/o fail.
I use that one for my XM radio, center one for my cell charger or GPS. Never use them for anything else, no converters for a tv or what not and don't leave anything plugged in if I'm not actually driving the car, so no idling or just battery use of them.
Ideas on what's going on?
Also have an issue with the turn signal going out. It will 'wind up' slow then real fast and just die. But it only messes up or stops working during the warmer months, 70F or warmer. Any rough clue what I'd need to do to fix that?
Thanks!

As to the turn signal issue, I'd ask cliffyk. I'm fairly sure the new edge uses a variation of the SJB the later models use, and all that(signals) are controlled from it directly. It should flash fast when it doesn't get the proper load, but doing both....My guess would be either sequentials that were installed having an issue in warmer weather, or the SJB itself. In any case I'd ask in that direct section.

There's nothing in there, I keep the plastic thing in when I don't use them.
Haven't checked any wires, don't really know what I'm looking at. Not a car electrician, I can fix any issue in the house, but the car is a whole other world. haha.
Yes, I will put in a new fuse, about 3-4mo later, it will need to be changed again. When I first got the car, I didn't bother. But about 2yrs ago, I started changing it out and it's been near clockwork since then.

as he said it sounds like it is shorting out from time to time. The only way to really check this is to trace the wiring for that lighter. Pull/jerk on it to see if you can expose any copper or if you can get the fuse to blow while you do it.
