Default How long do Fog Light Bulbs last?

I have a 2014 GT with the big halogen Fog Lights in the grill. Both lights quit working at the same time. I have checked/replaced Fuse #21 in the passenger foot-well and the light in the switch comes on when I pull the switch out for Fog Lights. Brights are not on. I've had the car for a bit over 2 years and really don't use them that often. How long should they last and what is the likelihood of them burning out simultaneously? What else could it be?

Do you have the ignition switch in the "on" position?

I don't have a clue. But, I really can't believe they both gave up at once. Not a chance. If they have one fuse, then they have one power lead going to the sockets. Check for voltage at the respective plugs that go to the bulbs. No power = fault in harness. Then, ID the side of the fuse that is direct to the bulbs. Attach leads to the power wire at the bulb, then to the fuse spot, with a volt/ohm meter involved. Then, perhaps, a little judicious movements of the harness may make the volt/ohm meter respond, then you should know where the wire has gone bad.

Many years ago, in a 64 Chevy with goodies I was running across Texas on my way to Vietnam. LEO pulled me over and told me to visit next gas station a replace my right head light. Gas station was no help, discovered all four worked on high beams. LEO pulled me over again, I said I'd be out of state next day. Turned out in CA that wire had been "broken" one way or another due vibration/routing/age.

aren't the fog lamps in the 2013-2014 LEDs?

Should last a long time and they both shouldn't burn out at the same time.

Did you hit a bad pothole or something?

Nope. Halogen for the fog lamps.

No. Pretty careful about that.

the owner's manual for the 2014 GT says otherwise. copied directly from it:

Replacing Fog Lamp Bulbs (GT)
Your vehicle is equipped with LED fog lamp bulbs. It is designed to last
the life of the vehicle. If replacement is required, it is recommended that
you see your authorized dealer

Yup. You're right. I was looking at the replacement chart and under Fog Lamp they list both the LED (GT) and H11 (V6). This is actually good because if it's not user serviceable, it's Ford's problem. I'll make an appointment. Thanks for straightening me out!

When I had my car in for hood corrosion, a replacement hood was unavailable so they buttoned things up so I could have the car back until Ford coughs up a new hood. In doing so, they neglected to plug in the fog lights. Fog lights work great. Still waiting on a new hood!
