Backseat amp mounting

Is the backseat support board strong enough to hold an amp or is the board not dense enough to hold the screws?

depending on how big and how much the amp weighs. if its a small amp then yeah if not then its not a good idea. you can do an amp rack like i did, my amp was WAY too big to put in back of the seat, heres a pic..

Make sure you use as short as possible screw to hold it if you do - you don't want your passengers getting a suprise acu-puncture treatment Plus I'm sure you'd hate to see those screws coming through [:@]

You might consider mounting a piece of plywood (covered in matching carpet of course) across the span of both seats first to disperse the load - then mount your amp to that.
