Default Sound proofing

Looking to sound proof the cab of my 99 GT. I have custom side pipes with no mufflers, and a shaker 1000 sound system. I love the sound of the exhause, but I want to soften the drone and enjoy my sound system.
Dynamat, GTmat, or lizard skin. I need some input before I drop the moola$!

I got some hushmat at %40 off, it seems to work great so far, and it wasn't hard to install at all. I have it in my trunk, roof, floor, and back seat.

Thread might be dead but just my .02 cents - GT mats works very well but definitely get the 80mil thickness or double up the thinner version

SoundDeadenerShowdown is the best sound deadener, period. Not only does Don supply the best product, but his customer service is top notch.

Audiotechnix is the best bang for buck from the cheaper solutions.

If I were you, I'd first start by sealing the doors with a layer of CCF (closed cell foam), MLV (Mass Loaded Vinyl), and CLD (Constrained Layer Damper). Use butyl rope where needed too. If that's not enough deadening, then you can move on to the floorpan.

I recomend second skin myself. I have the damplifier pro and luxery liner to help block out my side exhaust and it makes a huge difference. I have had my hands on all different brands while I was a working installer but will not do anything less then damplifier on my own car now.

Second skin is decent for the money, but Audiotechnix is better for the money. My opinion is completely unbiased by the way, I have no affiliation with either brand. Just solely based on objective results.

same here. Worked as an installer on/off for 15 yrs and after havin my hands on nearly all of them over the years I found my fav. Also like the thermal guard they make as I was having issues with my consol heating up after the side exhaust install but after a later of that its not an issue anymore.

Give AT a shot sometime, I think you'll be impressed. Let us know what you think if you do!
