Hi all I'm in the process of sound deadening my car with second skins damplifier luxury liner and overkill. However I made my way to the doors and I have a quick question for anyone with some more experience.

When you take off the door panel there is a plastic climate barrier attached to the metal door. I know I have to take it off to deaden the door but will I have to reinstall it or can I leave it off and use the sound deadening as the new barrier?

 

I always like to finish my doors by putting a complete layer of sound damping over the holes just like the plastic was. Does the same job of keeping moisture out but also helps to keep a little noise out as well.
