Default wire routing

Hi,
I am putting in a pair of pioneer subs and orion amp into my 85 gt with t-tops. I am trying to figure out a few things.
1. what is the best way to run the power and input wires to the trunk? rocker panel?...peel back the carpet?

2. Where abouts are thewires that go to the rear speackers run? I tried to follow them back to the head unit from the rear but didn't want to completely remove the large trim peice that goes from the doors to the trunk.

Thanks for the help. I'm fairly new at the audio side of cars but im getting there.

Dan

STOP!!!!!![sm=badidea.gif]
Don't run new speaker wire unless the factory wire is faulty somehow. I run a car audio shop and we never do. It's not worth the hassle.
Run power wire and RCA's on opposite sides of the vehicle under the carpet (at least under the scuff plates)
You should find a crevise at the bottom of either corner to the seat back that is big enough to fish a wire through. Just probe around, it's there. If you can't find it, remove the back seat and make life easier.

thanks, i was never going to rewire anything i was just puzzled on where they were run. I figured i could run the sub wires in the same place as the stock rear speakers to make life easy. also, what hole shoudl iuse to run the power cable thought the fire wall? I assume you said to run the power and rca's on opposie sides due to interference?

Yes thats the idea behind running them down opposite sides, you'll still want some good shielded rca's but running them opposite sides helps out alot. Just take off the trim piece, scuff plates whichever you want to refer to them as, pull the carpet up and try and run it as close to the floor board as possible. If your using 4 or 1/0 ga. you will more than likely not have a hole nearly big enough to run that through any existing grommets. I would reccomend drilling a new hole and then running it through but some would rather just save some time and stress to just run it through an existing one
