Default Need an amp- suggestions

Just a quick question for some suggestions to you audio guys out there---- I've got a 96 gt that I've updated with an Alpine middle of the line head unit and upgraded the speakers with infinitys--- I'm looking for a amp that will run all my speakers front and back plus I want to add a 10 or 12 inch sub in the trunk---- What would you guys suggest that I put in and is there an amp out there that will do what I want or do I need to buy two seperate amps, one to drive the sub and one to the speakers??? Any suggestions would be appreciated-- The sound I got now is good but it needs to boosted ---thanks in advance for the replies.

how many pre outs does the headunit have? if it has 3 then i would get a 4 channel for your speakers and a mono for your sub. i wouldnt reccomend one amp for both bc it will sound alot better with the crossovers that each of the different amps have

You could really go either way and there are lots of options. I like the 5 channel option myself. Only one set of power wires to run and one piece to mount. They have all the processing and crossovers built in to run everything so you can make all the adjustments at one spot. The JL 500/5 and Memphis Belle are a couple of really good ones. I run an Arc Audio 5150XXK in my F-150 and it is awesome.

I am running a JL 500/5, trunk space is at a premium, hard enough to fit 1 amp and sub box in the trunk I didn't want to lose all my trunk space to wiring, 2 amps, and a sub box. Sounds very good.

500/5 JL, or Alpine 450 both 5 channel's 5-channels work great the only downfall of them is that they generally dont put out a ton on the sub channel. I would recommend doing two separte amps but if space is a concern and you simply want to amp up the sound a tad th en stick with a 5 channel

go with two amps no matter what if u want to actual hear the subs good....a mono amp for the sub and then a4 channel for ur infinities...u can mount them anywhere i doubt space would be that big of a prob..the sub wont get near the power it needs from a multi-channel amp unless its weak and thatd be pointless....IMO...idk tho

Seight has it right.
The JL 500/5 is probably the best 5 channel on the market, but it and the memphis bell are HUGE. If your not worried about blowing out your eardrums, but want a great sound with an amp that will fit neatly in your trunk, go with the Alpine MRV-F450 five channel. It's 50 watts RMS per speaker and a 200 watt sub channel. A weel balanced combo of power.

how can you guys suggest amps to this guy when you dont know his speakers or ohm rating or power requirements. also the JL 5 channel is a good amp but hardly the best.
