JL is alot better than memphis but zed and tru and arc and brax and helix will blow jl out of the water. or even mcintosh.

Mojo and the new planet audio are some of the best out there, and JL is one of the most known...He could just go with some treo engineering stuff (the best)

It doesn't seem to me like this guy was wanting to invest 1,000 into his system he just wanted to amp up the whole system. I know JL is no where near the best never would I even think that statement let alone say it, they are probably in the top 25 but not even the top 10. I personally am not a fan of JL. But I recommended what would fit his application not what I like. I myself would want amps from the same companies you listed, but for those that don't want a full on SQ system they are somewhat on the expensive side.

For another possibility, check out the Xtant X603. Might be a good possibility. I loved it in my Maxima. Be sure to get a 2 ohm sub for it. 75X4, 300/1
