Default Alarm System, kill switch, or lo jack?

I know that I need to have some sort of security plan in place for my 2006 GT with as many cosmetic upgrades as I have and will have it is begging to get pinched. I think I want LoJack. It's a one time $600ish cost. Is there a competitor's product I just haven't heard about? Alarms seem a waste of time. I know when I hear one I never stop and look for the bad guy. Kill switch was suggested. Why instead of lojack? what about both. Where do you get one installed? Thanks in advance.

Get an alarm with a mini piezo horn mounted in the cabin - even if someone gets inside the car - the mini piezo will deafen them!

LoJack is a good product but it doesn't keep the car from being driven and a thief could wreck it in the process of fleeing the police.

You could put a starter kill switch in for redundancy.

Directed Electronics makes Cliiford alarms which has an anti car-jacking feature (Concept or Avant Garde, but not Matrix I don't think) that you would have to enter a PIN in order to keep the car running after a certain length of time - it can be annoying having to enter that everytime you want to drive - but then again - so can having your car stolen. I can't wait till G5 comes out next year!

LoJack is only good if you notice the car is gone within 10 minutes of the heist. A professional thief will have pulled it out of the car, and dumped it on the side of the road by then. They use average install techniques, and it is easy to find.

Your best bet is a real good alarm system that is installed properly. Make sure to get all points of entry, and back up battery. A paging style system is a good option, and so is the additional piezo sirens. I personally have two of them in the air vents of my car. You may want to get a tilt motion sensor so they can't jack up the car and steal your rims.
