Hey guys I have a 96 Gt and I bought it all stock just factory cassette in it, the car does have the mach 460, but my stereo sounds like crap I have no bass at all no matter what setting its on and the sound only comes mostly from the door tweeters by the mirror and some in the rear. I've been told its the amps but i've also been told the car has 3 amps I'd just like to know which amp to replace. I cant find anyone in my area that knows what there talking about.

 

If you are looking for loud bass, then don't look for the mach sub to produce it. My advice to you would be to go buy some aftermarket subwoofers, amplifiers, possibly a capacitator (just to be safe), some wires...and there ya go.

 

No no you missed the point man I just want the standard mach 460 the sub is not working nor are the door speakers or the main part of the rears.

 

my 96 only had 2 amps but now they're not used. I'm not sure if one was used for the fronts and one for the rears or one for left and one for right. My suggestion would be to replace the stock system with aftermarket gear. You'll be glad you did.

 

No point in fixing a broken 10 year old stock radio.
