ya a magazine review is about as point less as a 10yr kid giving a review. i read in one of the articles that they said that an audiobahn sub had very good SQ and it did really good in a sealed box when actually those subs are just made for ported (at least the ones they tested) and audiobahn has some of the worst sounding subs on the market. they give favors to the ones that advertise in there magazine. if you look throught it look how many more MTX adds are in there and compare it to focal or DLS or Bravox.

Do you really want me to look through the last 3 years of those magazines and count how many more Focal ads are in it than MTX? I'll put money on it that theres more for Focal than MTX. So a magazines opinion ona a speaker is pointless eh? Than what good is yours? Your just another person with an opinion what makes yours better? Can you say that you have listened to more speakers than a product reviewer? And you may say that I am doing the same thing, but im not the one slamming another brand.

i have listen to many many differnt brands of speakers so i have and know there is a difference in speakers. for comps i have listen to just about everything from infinity, JL, rockford, Kicker, DLS, Bravox, Focal, memphis, arc, rainbow, alpine, and other that have slippend my mind. if you have heard some of the high end ones like Bravox focal DLS rainbow and others there is a night and day difference between them and the popular brands. i have also discussed many many differnt speakers with many of the nations top installers and dealers and audiophiles so i would say my knowledge on speakers is pretty good. im very good friends with stereo shops across the country and some are dealers for MTX and they were very disappointed in their comps.

magazines cant say a product sucks because they would loose their advertising from them so i never go by what the magazines say is a great product or not.

When you say MTX Componets you are reffering to these right? Not their Thunder series ones. I can definatly say that the Thunder series are nothing great.

it was the txc6.1 im sure they arnt horrible they are just average with an above average price. the dealers said they can usually sell them for around 300-350 cause they compete with those alot more than the ones in the 450 range. alot of people arnt able to tell the difference between one set and another and thats why audiobahn makes comps lol. but if you really want to hear an amazing set look at the DLS IR8.3 set

i sell alpine and memphis both in the shop i work at. go for the alpines type-x's for the front. 400.00. buy a set of coaxes for the rear. here is a thought. when you go to a concert you face the stage. the rears should be just for fill. reasons behind the x's.... time correction in the crossover and phase compensation based on the angle the speakers are from the drivers seat and distance. i personally have two sets of the boston acoustic Z's (AMAZING!!!) but at a grand a set, a little spicy. good luck
