Default Need a hand with front speakers

Hey folks!

My speakers blew in the door panels of my 2001 ford mustang v6. I'm trying to find a guide/manual as to how to either replace them, or take off the door panel to get to the speaker. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

JM

Start by popping off the interior part where your side mirrors are, triangle plastic piece. Then tkae the couple of screws out by the door lever itself. Pop out the plastic piece where your window button and slot to pull the door shut is located. Take out the screws along the bottom of the door. Lift up and towards yourself to remove. A little bump and light kick of the shoe may be necessary. Reverse to re-assemble.

OEM 5x7/6x8 all the way around, if you are replacing I would recommend 5 1/4" for your front doors.

Round component speakers would be your best bet.

Youre tweeters are probably 3/4" stock. However, you can make a 1" fit in those pods.

5 1/4" would lead to no cutting of your door. 6 1/2" would be ideal, but some custom work will be needed to do so. And yes the tweeters if you have the 460 you can easily swap out by taking apart the 460 pod and putting in the tweeter from the componet set.
