i have a 99gt vert. with the mach 460 system. my question is what size door and rear speakers will fit in my car? I know 5x7's will fit in the front and rear but im wondering if i can go any larger

 

Most 6X8 speakers will fit in 5X7 mounting holes.

 

i thought speakers come 6 x 9 not 6 x 8...maybe thats what u meant tho. dont mean to nitpick...just dont know if theres a certain sze speaker that could fit that i didnt kno about. if they do make a 6 x 8 and they fit...would it be worth it at all to get them instead of 5 x 7s?

 

They make 6x8s, and they will fit in the front and back. I just want to know if anyone's put 6x9s in a 1999-04 rear?

Sure you can put a 12" woofer in there if you like, bust out the sawzall or a dremel and have fun! We don't need to debate the difference between 5x7 and 6x8. It's so minimal it's not even worth my finger strokes. Nowadays many manufacturers just write 5x7/6x8 on the boxes which simply means they fit both. Actually come to think of it the only speakers we carry that still are actually termed 6x8 on the product tag is the Pioneer ones. Anyway they are the same. Buy what you think sounds good.
