Default New head unit for 04 GT

There any other head units I can put in my car? I have a mach 460 in there now and want the MP3 playback. I was going to buy a used mach 1000, but I'd like to get something even better. Anybody know of any other good ones for a replacement mach?

I've been told there is actually a harness that you can use for a direct replacement of the mach with any head unit. have you asked any sounds shops about a harness/adapter? never seen it myself, so take it with a grain of salt.

It doesn't work on an 04. There is no harness for the 04 to incorporate an aftermarket head with the stock 460.

I am not sure. There is a harness that works with 99-02 I think. I'm not clear on the years but I'm fairly sure 03/04 do not have a hanress that will work.

i think they do you just have to check out a few differnt companys. and about ever cdplayer for 150 on up will play MP3s and have a better sound than a factory. Id check into Eclipse if you want a really nice one.

The issue that I "heard" is that the rear amps power the mid range drivers and the head unit powers all the tweeters.

the stock units suck anyways, the CDs get jamed and they get hot, i would get an aftermarket unit, that is also set up for satillite radio and an I-pod, you will probably need an install kit, bring it to best buy and find out what you need.
