New head unit for 04 GT
ORIGINAL: mustangman02232
the stock units suck anyways, the CDs get jamed and they get hot, i would get an aftermarket unit, that is also set up for satillite radio and an I-pod, you will probably need an install kit, bring it to best buy and find out what you need.

exactly, thank you pj. also, i've never had a problem with CDs getting stuck. *knock on wood* and the mach 460 & mach 1000 are both sirius ready. you just have to buy the antenna. and ipod? please man. i don't even own an ipod. i never bought into the whole ipod "fad". i'd rather spend less money and get the same features, if not more than an ipod. now everything is ipod this and ipod that. they even mark on headphones now "ipod compatible" to help sell them. guess what? stupid consumers buy into that crap. OMFG IPOD READY!!!11!11! sorry.. i just get really angry when someone mentions anything ipod.
i'd like to get the mach 1000 head unit if i don't need anything special to replace my 460 with it. i just want the ability to play MP3s and the 1000 has that ability.

I'm really at a loss of what to tell you. I just posted a link on how to hardwire a set of RCA inputs to the Mach 460...I know you don't want a MP3 player, but this seems the most viable alternative.
I couldn't tell you if the 1000 would work. You'd probably pay more for the 1000 than a big MP3 player. With the MP3 player, you can at least have a running archive of your music on one location vs. 50 CDs. It's probably just me but I like the idea of having ALL my CDs in my back pocket. I can take it anywhere, and have access to every mp3 I own from one spot.
Edit...I never said ipod....
