Personally duals are not very good subs, but you have to start somewhere. Best Buy does have some high end equipment. I know one of my friends is an installer there. He showed me the price sheet for Type X series subs and components. Thats what he is going to put in his car.

 

If you read you will see that I said in every aspect with DURABILITY ASIDE. They are crap. I never suggest anything from Best Buy. And once again I say this , Best Buy blows, but there are many places that sell stuff lower quality than them. Best Buy carries Alpine, I don't care what anyone says they are hands down the best mobile entertainment company out there. Im not saying they have the best sound quality or make the loudest speakers or the best looking screens, but for a nationally known company that delivers consistently decent products whether they be fold out monitors or componet speakers. I simply told him what i thought of the woofers and told him what I was running them with and how they performed. I know I could have blown them, easily but I paid money that I worked for those things I took some care when using them. I did with all the woofers I bought, and these somehow lasted longer than any of the other ones.

Type-X speakers are good but theres definatly better out there for the money.

Rockford whatever it is whether is the "P" as you call it (or Punch if you want to be correct) or the "T" (Power series) is crap.
Kicker sucks too. The L7 is a joke, an complete joke, I can name a dozen drivers than can obliterate them in SQ and in SPL and have a smaller price tag.

Best Buy sells the Alpine IVAD-310, whats wrong with it? I've used it, it's a great unit.

 

My friend has the 2 dual setup in the enclosure and it sounds like poo. Course his frequency was max and Im like "dude, turn that down" and I turned it down but he said he liked it like that and ripped it all the way back up. It blurred everything. They dont hit hard at all. I was looking at Kicker CVR's on ebay and they are some decent subs for a good price. Stay away from sellers like Best Buy and Walmart!

 

Of course I am not suggesting buying these woofers, I have used them I was just telling you what I thought of them. Sorry I didn't post that sooner.

 

from 1 to 10 ..... i rate them a GARBAGE. i blew them out faster then my RF ,kickers last!

I agree that l7's are expensive, but kicker does NOT suck and the l7 is NOT a joke. what setup did you listen to that made you believe that l7's are a joke?

 

Best buy does not sell crap, yeah they sell bottom line car audio but thats because not every customer can afford "TOP QUALITY" brands. Big companies like bestbuy need to carry varieties of products so they can be suitable for everyone, not only the wealthy, by working their I can say that we sell descent audio equipment not the very best but definately not the worst..... The rockford P3's and the alpine type R's would be the best subs we sell, I do agree that they are overpriced but not for me cuz I get discount!!!! WOO WOO!!!! As far as dual subs go, ALOT of people buy them because they cant afford the higher end brands, especially when they drive a kia or a hyundai and just want some beat in their cars, people arent gonna spend a sh*t load of $$$ on a car like that....

And kicker doesnt suck at all!! they are considered to be "higher priced" than most brands, and Im not saying that their the best but I am saying that they make some of the better audio equipment, I have 2 12" L5's in the stang and they hit harder than most peoples systems, only system Ive heard that hits harder was my friends 2 12" JL W7's that he had in a custom box and a seperate amp to each sub....

 

ya kicker is crap they have a high failure rate and like like ***. and best buy dose sell crap look at their dual or sony or audiobahn or what ever its all crap.

 

And what all you sell is high quality???? Cant convince an idiot I guess..... its not crap, not everyone can afford $5000 stereo systems, stores like bestbuy circuit city etc. need to carry all types of products low and high to fullfill customers needs if you ask someone who actually knows about audio they'll say that kicker is a good brand not the best but up there.... and what about other products that bestbuy sells, they must sell crap if they carry 12,000 dollar tv's huh??? personaly i own a pair of 12in dual subs, i like them a lot, i pulled up to a woman with 2 12 fosgates and mine out hit her's maxed out and mine at 50%

but to each his own, i will take the subs out at some point and install 2 jbl comps when i get the money
